Tree planting & Tree nursery
In 2023 and 2024, almost 250,000 trees were planted with the help of the local environmental authority CARDER.
It was a huge undertaking and at WCA we are very grateful for this enormous support from CARDER and the Colombian government.
We have encountered some mortality among the trees planted, and therefore WCA continues the work to plant trees, and also in the new areas recently acquired by WCA.
WILD Campo Alegre today has its own nursery where we are producing thousands of seedlings of native tree species.
These will be used to supplement already planted areas where necessary and prepare to plant new land when we get the funds to buy more neighbouring fincas (farms).
In this way, we ensure quick re-establishment of the forest with the possibility of restoring biodiversity faster.
